In March 2021, our XPLORE team launched our 1st i2i Internship to Innovation – Core Ramp Up Traineeship Program.
i2i is a program designed to add value to internship/ traineeship/apprenticeship with an aim to nurture and connect budding Tech Talents to industry players. This program focuses on producing and re-skilling tech professionals with the aim to inject new talents into the industry through an innovative process that starts with recruitment, comprehensive learning journey and finally, the delivery of ready resources. It is not specific to any technology but it aims to develop talents to any skillset that may be of interest, demand and of short supply.
Andrew enrolled in our i2i program as he wanted to gain experience and find a foothold in the IT industry. Having just a little experience with IT in the past, he found this program to be appealing as he would be learning practical skills and subsequently honing them at a traineeship.
Qn 1. What drew you to Xcellink’s i2i Internship to Innovation – Core Ramp Up Program?

Qn 2. What are the 3 important skills that you have learned in this program?
Andrew: Perseverance, Logical Thinking and Problem-Solving skills
Qn 3. How do you think this program will help you in your future career progression and opportunities?
Andrew: This program has instilled confidence in me when it comes to developing applications using the Outsystems platform. I am optimistic that the professional certification and experience gained through this program will open up new doors of opportunity for me in my career path.
Qn 4. How do you keep yourself focused and concentrate on the remote training program?
Andrew: I took the initiative to learn as much knowledge as possible. It was challenging, particularly the dry sections of theory, but the more I invested in the program, the more focus I grew to concentrate on the training program. Additionally, the frequent motivation from Xcellink helped me too!
Qn 5. Can you describe how successful the course outcome was compared to your expectations?
Andrew: I was very apprehensive at first as I had very little knowledge of programming. However, the trainer’s delivery was succinct, and the training program was easy to understand. The trainer was also very helpful and patient, giving the trainees enough opportunities to ask questions if they were unsure.
Qn 6. Are you confident in your ability to take on low-code development projects after completing this training?
Andrew: Yes.
Qn 7. Do you plan to engage in further training in this area? Why?
Andrew: Yes, I believe this area of IT is rapidly growing and has a lot of potential. Further training would definitely allow me to gain more knowledge and help me with the advancement of my career.
Qn 8. What advice would you give to new trainees that are interested in this program?
Andrew: Take a chance on this program and give it your best. If you have no prior knowledge of programming, do not worry, as this program is designed to equip and impart trainees with a better understanding of low-code programming through an easy-to-grasp learning method additionally, the trainer will provide sufficient explanations for simpler comprehension on the subject.
Qn 9. Would you recommend this training to a friend or colleague?
Andrew: Yes definitely!
Qn 10. What do you think the future of IT would look like?
Andrew: I believe that we will see a significant increase in the use of artificial intelligence in our everyday lives.From predicting what you want to eat for lunch to assist you with basic tasks such as automatically taking notes at work. With the skills that I have learned throughout this program, I hope that I can continue to upskill myself and move towards the tech-demand future.
